The use of 3D printing in aerospace, defence, art and design has been a great signal as a disturbing technology which will change not only the future of manufacturing but also its significance in surgery. The advances in 3D imaging and modelling technologies are changing the fate of dentistry by the use of cone beam computed tomography and intraoral scanning. It is used for the production of frameworks for dental implants in craniomaxillofacial and orthopaedics for dental restoration, physical models for prosthodontics, orthodontics and surgery.

Digital dentistry alludes to the utilization of dental innovations or gadgets that consolidates advanced or computer- controlled parts to complete dental methods instead of utilizing mechanical or electrical apparatuses. It is the advancement in dental science that enables patients to get modern solutions to their dental problems. It affords digital equipment available to cosmetic dentists and implant dentists. The digital technologies such as; digital radiography, electronic prescriptions, CAD restorations and digital impressions. Every region of digital dentistry has main points in contrast with the ordinary gadget or method.

It is the branch of dentistry involving surgical procedures of teeth and jaw bones. The commonly used procedures are Endodontic, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics and Oral & maxillofacial surgery.

A beautiful smile is a key for making long lasting impressions. Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance of teeth, gum and bite. It primarily focuses on improvement in dental aesthetics in colour, position, shape, size, alignment and overall appearance. It includes Teeth Whitening, Dental Veneers, Dental Bonding, Dental Crown, Inlays & Onlays, and Dental Implants.

Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) are tools, developed by and for practitioners, to assist in clinical decision making. They are designed to enhance, not replace, clinical judgment and expertise. Well-developed guidelines use the evidence-based approach. The research evidence related to a topic is assembled in a systematic, comprehensive and unbiased manner. Recommendations are made based on the evidence and practitioner feedback is sought prior to formulating the final practice guideline. There are many misperceptions about CPGs and some dentists are wary about their development and use. In this conference, we explore some of the reasons for these misperceptions, review the benefits of sound guidelines, and discuss some of the challenges for guideline development in dentistry in Canada and all over World.
